its really "oo-koo-leh-leh", but a lot of people say it as "yoo-kah-lay-lee".

Absolutely right. I first heard this strum years ago on an old VHS about music in South America. Some old fella, way out in the country, used the strum to accompany Harp on his spanish guitar. Piers
