'Why aye, man' is a term we use in the North east of England (Newcastle and Sunderland) and it really just means 'yeah, of course'. Its just a way of saying 'yeah' but with more emphasis. It is usually said with a bit of character and is friendly or jokey. It is used regularly in everyday language. The term isnt used anywhere else in Britain. There are many other terms used in North East English language that are not used anywhere else. Hope this helps marra.
