amazingly only 10% nitro, 70% methanol and 20% castor oil. irvine say that 1.8bhp is a minimum, and usually only that low if not using any nitro. its good fun :)

nice!!! whats your fuel mixture?
steeeven1 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
i contacted irvine and told them my fuel mixture, and they said that it would give 1.9bhp

The whole idea of using pins is to prevent the hinges from detaching from the surfaces they are inserted in (this usually happens when they are not glued properly). So basically, you need drive a pin through the hinge and glue it in place. For example, when pinning ailerons you require two pins for each hinge point: one to pin the hinge to the aileron and one to pin the hinge to the wing. The lengh of the pin will be equal to the thickness of the surface where the hinge is inserted.hope this helps

this may sound like a stupid question, but how would you "pin down" the control surfaces exactly?

i would highly recommend an irvine .40 abc mark 4, plently of power, with a 10x6 propellor (or if u want to do sport and aerobatics as opposed to 'parkflying' then et a 10x8). i use a futaba 6ex 2.4ghz radio system, as it is reliasble, long range and the batteries last a long time before another recharge. hope that helps
