The man is a Genius. A masterpiece.

I hate to think of the day his haunting voice does not bless us any longer. Magnificent.

Waylon Jennings called Willie's singing "back phrasing for the hard of hearing". There will never be another like him. Don't judge a man for being absolutely original....we should all be so lucky. Keep the music alive.

Look or rather, listen, Willie Nelson doesn't lack rhythm, your ears might but not his lyricism. He just swings more than you may be used to. Kermit's version is stragihtforward and beautiful as well. And yes, the lyrics are magnificently sweet and hopeful.

I know exactly what you mean except it's exactly what I like.

The lack of rythm

nice voice but i hate his lyrical rhythem... or lack of, to be more precise... there's just no flow to it... too sporadic. give me kermit's version over this, any day.

Classic Willie. I love this song and although Willie puts his own spin on it it still has me in tears like Kermits version. If you listen to the lyrics it is mostly a song of Hope and Reality. We Hope our dreams come true and if we believe in them enough they just might. But reality slams its true door in our face and knocks us down. The ones that get up and keep trying are the the ones that may find.......... The Rainbow Connection. Thats what this song means to me. |
