Yes and this person could have picked a better example to make his point. This is comedy central after all. Colbert is pure sarcasm and cynisism. Totally off the wall. The networks I believe target certain demagraphics to lock in viewership. What I get sick of is all the spin. They make issues where there are none to create interest. People would react to facts and logic if they were presented with it without so much negativity. Thanks for your intelligent and respectful reply. As opposed to....

Outfoxed is a joke. Talk about serious editing. I bet you buy into that crappy show Loose Change" as well.

ok wow. You caught him. He made a grammar mistake in the title. Catching it is clever. Sure. But you and I both know what he meant, so get over it.

I agree totally. I think Fox and every other network hold fast to the idea that the people they most identify with are correct to the exclusion of people they disagree with. That's the definition of bias. I think C-Span ins a good answer to your call for a fact-based news service, and I do wish that people responded more rationally to facts and logic, but I am not so naive as to expect it from the news networks.
kyelewis (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
err... I apparently don't see the problem with the editing that you do. Both versions are hillarious, I don't see how Fox News can gain anything useful from the editing, and it really does appear to be for time purposes. The joke _was_ too long.

gamp0001, I agree that, almost all news networks exhibit bias, one way or the other. What I find troubling is how FOX can hold fast to the notion that liberals are almost always wrong and that conservatives are almost always correct on most issues. You can't believe most of what is aired on television anyway. But there is a lot to be said for a free, fair and "unbiased" press. I believe if news was more factual and less political people would be better informed and served by it.

You must admit listening to the guy who made this video is about as fun as watching flies f@ck. He sounds like the typical "nerd" on a Saturday Night Live Skit. He does nothing for the liberal cause. If anything he helps the conservatives.
MachApocalypse (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Your title "Fox news edits a democrat to make him look worse" implies that you thought the guy looks pretty bad with no editing. Not true you say? Why would you use the word worse instead of bad? Could it be your inner conservative sensibilities shining through? Why not go start a business in your spare time instead of making silly youtube videos? Heck maybe then you would be able to upgrade that old tv and maybe even afford speech therapy for the lisping kid at the beginning of the video. |
