Haha, this song refuses to go away. Even in the 00's its been referenced in "Stan" by Eminem and used on a TV commercial, bringing it back to the UK Top 40. One of my Top 3 Phil Collins songs!

one of the rumors (i dont know if its true!) is that he saw his nahbour kill his girlfriend, which inspired him to write the song. then when he got a big contract to publish the song, he asked (not quote on quote) "i would like to invite somebody to my first concert, front stage center row." and he invited that nahbour. not sure if this is true though

I heard that this song is a true story written about one of Phil Collin's friends. His parents were killed way back when. And one night the guy's in a bar and sees the guy who killed em. The story goes he waited until he left the bar and killed him in an alleyway.
